Acting on behalf of Modus Properties, we secured consent for one of the largest multi-storey developments in Wales. Situated on a gateway site in Newport, City Spires will occupy a strong mixed use/retail location linking with the newly revamped train station and the city's largest shopper car park.
The development incorporates a 101m residential tower, containing 239 apartments, a 112 bed hotel, 7,300 sq m of retail floorspace, six floors of multi-storey car parking and a separate office block providing 9,287 sq m over nine floors. Plans include improvements to the public realm and outdoor environment, to create a streetscape that is both attractive and inviting.
Modus expect the scheme to be complete in 2010 when Newport hosts the Ryder Cup competition.
