Service Charge Accounting

Matthews & Goodman act for both the landlords and tenants of commercial property, ensuring that service charges are set at fair and reasonable levels. We are able to analyse cost implications in great detail due to detailed understanding of leasehold obligations.

On behalf of landlords, we structure leases to ensure that tenants are charged reasonable levels that reflect the true costs of shared services and facilities. We also offer a service charge collection facility. 

For tenants, we have achieved considerable savings in cases where service charge levels have been set in excess of fair levels and have remained unchallenged, in some instances for many years. Refunds can be backdated to the start of a leasehold term.
